Description
This model originally was a 3t truck. Opel only produced the frame, bus bodyworks were added by other companies. Since this truck was the backbone of military transportation, production was continued throughout the war. After the war, the Opel plant in Brandenburg was under Soviet control, so the last models were produced by Daimler-Benz who had already been forced to build this model during the war.
Historically, the Opel Blitz was a very common truck type. Technically speaking, the bus version even is a step backwards. However, as bus developments were suppressed in favour of war machinery, this model is the only one available at that time. Still, this type is comparably cheap, extremely robust and long living.
