Description
The O 405 was the successor of the O 305 type. It conformed to the new VÖV-II regulations. An articulated version was available as well. Again, this type was very successful, the last units are still in service, though being replaced with newer models after having served for more than 15 years. In the early 1990s, a low floor version was developed, being called O 405 N.
This type is the standard bus of the late 1980s. Due to the standardization it is a very robust and reliable construction, the only problem being the lack of a third door for faster passenger exchange.
