Description
The VÖV-plans for standardized busses which had been introduced during the 1960s also called for a regional bus type of 11.7m length. MAN introduced the SÜ 240 type conforming to this standard in 1973. It was a very succesful type and was produced for almost 20 years. The main difference to the city model , apart from the length, is the different seating and a smaller front door.
This bus is quite a good allround model. It performs quite good in most tasks, though specialized types might be available. Since the model originates from a standardization program, it is comparably cheap and very reliable.
