Description
This is the most recent double deck bus in the set. Like most other double deck types, it is based on a type used in Berlin. In the game, it combines a high capacity with good top speed, while being considerably shorter than articulated models. Thus, it can also serve the standard bus stops.
The first prototype was tested in 2004, series production began in 2006. Since the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) use their own numbering scheme, this bus is also known as type DL. Until 2008, about 300 units of this type are planned to be put into service. This marks a kind of a return to double deck types, which have been so typical for Berlin, but were planned to be replaced by articulated busses during the last years.
