Description
This type was quite exotic in Germany as it had originally been developed as coach type for export and was not allowed in Germany due to its length. However, in 1993 the regulations were changed, and the city version of this type was used in Chemnitz. It proved to be a quite popular model because double decks are extremely uncommon outside Berlin. Still, it was no real success due to its comparably weak engine in combination with a rather hilly terrain and the complex four-axle design that needed constant servicing. After only eight years of service, this type was replaced by standard articulated buses.
This is the largest single-frame bus in the set, offering a stunning 180 seats. However, it is only suited for short distance inner city travel due to its comparably low speed.
