Description
This DMU was the first one for fast passenger services of the newly formed Bundesbahn in the 1950s. It was originally designed as comfortable express train, running as TEE service starting in 1957. However, the "eggheads", as they were known due to their peculiar form, were soon replaced from these servies, by the mid 1960s they were adapted for local services and were used around Brunswick. They ran until the mid 1980s before being retired.
It is not exactly easy to use this type in a way that is similar to the real world usage, especially the change from express train to local train is somewhat difficult. The easiest option is probably to just skip the early years as express train and to simply use the type for fast local and regional services.
