In real life

Wikipedia

The Rheingold was an express passenger train run by the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft, which was operated starting in 1928. It connected the Netherlands with Switzerland and passed through Cologne, Koblenz, Mainz, Mannheim and Karlsruhe, roughly following the river Rhine. South of Koblenz the tracks are right next to the Rhine, this section is considered to be one of the most beautiful lines on the German network.

The train was operated using class 18 and class 01 steam engines. The coaches were purpose-built for this train and had a special livery in cream/blue with silver roof. The service was run until 1939 when it was stopped due to the outbreak of World War II.

This is also modeled in DBSetXL. One can "refit" a train consisting of long-distance coaches for passengers and mail into Rheingold-liveries, if the train is hauled by a class 01 or class 18 engine. The refitted coaches have different characteristics compared to the normal long-distance coaches - see this table.

The screenshot shows a class 18 with long-distance coaches in Rheingold livery. The number of coaches is not based on the original, but based on the passengers waiting at the stations.
