Description
The "Blue Tiger" is a modern six-axle diesel engine, similar to well-known American types. It was mainly developed for freight services, where the tractive effort is required. About 60 units were built, most of them for the Asian market. Deutsche Bahn briefly tested the type in the late 1990s, but did not order them for regular services. Some smaller companies used the engine in Germany.
If you want to play in a realistic way, you can simply skip this type. However, it is a good replacement for the older engines of class 232, if you even run into the issue of still having non-electrified freight lines in the network. This type is more of a gap filler, as there is no modern diesel engine in use with Deutsche Bahn - for passenger services you still have the class 218, but most services are switched to DMUs, whereas for freight services the older class 232 still is a solid choice.
